Avocado Fudgesicles are such a wonderful summer snack that take no time at all to whip up. You won’t have to beg your child to eat this healthy snack, it’s so tasty they’ll be begging you for more!
When life gives you avocados, you make avocado fudgesicles!
I know it seems strange to use avocado in a sweet treat, but it totally works.
Besides, what’s wrong with adding some healthy fats, potassium, and vitamin K to your child’s diet (and your own, I mean, you won’t be able to resist these chocolatey pops!)?
Instead of reaching for the colorful popsicles at the store, take your child to the store so they can grab the ingredients for these avocado fudgesicles. Then help your child make them at home!
Or, if they’re old enough, give them the chance to make them on their own. These fudgesicles are super easy to throw together and your child will love feeling like they are in charge of their own treats!
How to Make Avocado Fudgesicles at Home
To make avocado fudgesicles, first you should gather all your ingredients. You will need milk, avocados, bananas, cocoa powder, honey, and salt.
Next, add everything to the blender, starting with the milk and moving down the ingredient list.
Blend for at least 45 seconds to a minute and stir to make sure everything is smooth.
Set out your popsicle molds and put the “batter” into each mold.
Freeze the fudgesicles for at least 3-4 hours.
Last of all, make sure to enjoy!
Frequently Asked Questions About Making Avocado Fudgesicles
What Ripeness of Avocados Should I Use?
When it comes to choosing avocados, be sure to use ones that are ripe but not too ripe. The avocados should give a little when you press on the top with a finger. If they are brown on the inside when you open them, they’re not going to taste good in this recipe.
What Ripeness of Bananas Should I Use?
Same goes for bananas. You will need to use bananas that are on the ripe side but not too ripe. They should have some brown spots on the peel. If they are completely brown, though, save them for a baked good or smoothie recipe instead.
What Kind of Milk Should I Use?
I have only tested this recipe with coconut milk, but I’m fairly certain that any milk, dairy or non-dairy, will work. I actually think it might taste really good with almond milk, especially if you make your own at home.
How Much Time Does It Take to Make These Popsicles?
It only takes 10-15 minutes to get everything into the blender and then into the popsicle molds and in the freezer. The waiting part is what takes a while, 3-4 hours to be exact.
How Long Are Avocado Fudgesicles Good For?
The popsicles will be good for up to 3 months, assuming you don’t scarf them all up before then. You could technically eat them even after that, but they might not taste as good.
Can My Kid Eat These For Breakfast?
I don’t see why not! They have healthy fats and you could serve them alongside eggs or sausage.
