Why You Should Enjoy Nature During a Spending Freeze

*This is the 10th day of the One Month Spending Freeze Challenge. Please click here to see all of the posts in this series.*

Sometimes during a spending freeze, you can get so caught up in what you cannot do that you forget the world of possibilities that exists around you. I’ll admit that I have probably been a little too absorbed in making sure our money is staying put in our account rather than trying to enjoy the simple and sweet things of this life. That’s why we are going to shift our focus today to the beauty surrounding us.

Maybe you live in a beautiful place. Or maybe you have to drive somewhere (and use fuel) to find natural beauty.

Whatever the case, get out of your house and breathe in some fresh air. Yes, even if you have to spend a little money on fuel.

How does it feel?

Is the wind blowing through the trees?

Do you hear birds chirping?

Are the clouds floating around overhead?

Nature is one of the most beautiful things in life and it is FREE to enjoy. I always take it for granted, though.

Not today.

I want to get outside and give back to nature today. Are you with me?

Let’s roll up our sleeves and do one thing today to make our environments more beautiful.

Pick up some garbage.

Pull a few weeds.

Sweep up some dirt from the sidewalk.

You get the idea.

When you’ve finished this task be sure to look around you again. How do you feel about being in nature, especially after you have done just one small thing to make it more beautiful?

Whatever you do, don’t get all wrapped up in your own problems and issues that you forget to be content with where you are in life. Nature always seems to help me remember that I already have so much and I don’t really need much else.

Have a great Saturday and get out there and enjoy the simple beauty surrounding you!

What’s your favorite season to enjoy?
